The Story Behind Maganda

I'm Dr. Laura Boddicker, founder of Maganda.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, educator, and researcher, I've spent more than 15 years helping individuals navigate burnout, life transitions, trauma, and chronic stress. Throughout my career, one truth has remained constant: lasting well-being requires more than simply managing symptoms—it requires understanding the whole person.

The name Maganda comes from the Tagalog word meaning beautiful. I first learned the word during my time serving in the United States Navy, and over the years it has come to represent my belief that true beauty is found in resilience, authenticity, growth, and living with purpose. Those values continue to guide my work today.

My approach integrates current research, valid and reliable assessments, and personalized coaching with the perspective of a licensed mental health clinician. While coaching is distinct from psychotherapy, my clinical training provides a deeper understanding of the biological, psychological, social, and occupational factors that influence burnout and overall well-being.

Through coaching, assessment, and education, my goal is to help individuals build resilience, restore balance, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
